Another way of framing risks is to refer to the risk-based approach adopted by the EU AI Act, which classifies AI systems into four risk categories: unacceptable, high, limited, and minimal. AI systems designed for general purposes, such as foundation models and generative AI systems, adhere to a distinct classification framework, with additional obligations for models posing a “systemic risk.”
